A Delhi court has issued bail to Nirmal Singh Bhangoo, Mohan Lal Sehjpal, Kanwaljit Singh Toor, Sarvesh Kumar, and Gurmeet Singh, in connection with the PACL money laundering case. (ED v/s Nirmal Singh Bhangoo & Others)

Bail was issued on a personal bond for Rs 1 lakh, with one surety each in the same amount.

Special CBI Court, Rouse Avenue Judge Dig Vinay Singh, passed the order.

Following the registration of FIR by the Central Bureau of Investigation under Section 120B and 420 of IPC, the Enforcement Directorate had filed its money laundering ECIR against Bhangoo and other accused that include M/s Pearl Infrastructure Projects Ltd. (PIPL) and Pearl Agrotek Corporation Limited (PACL).

Enforcement Directorate opposed the grant of bail in the capacity of the investigation qua the offense of money laundering was going on.

The Court also noted, while granting the interim bail to all accused that none of them was arrested by Enforcement Directorate during the investigation, and even the complaint/charge sheet was filed without any arrest.

Further, it was an admitted position that the investigation was still in process as certain information was on the lookout from another country, which was likely to take many months.
