State Bank of India (SBI) Leave Policy 2024
The State Bank of India (SBI) is among India’s largest public-sector banks. And, owing to its high-paying salary, lucrative job profile, and employee benefits, lakhs of students apply each year to secure a position in SBI through various exams. Being one of the biggest banks in India, SBI offers several perks to its employees, including medical benefits, travel and house rent allowance, car and personal loans, etc. Employees at SBI are also provided with attractive leave policies for various reasons and occasions.
Let’s have a detailed look at the State Bank of India’s leave policy.
SBI Casual Leave Policy
An employee at SBI shall be entitled to avail of 12 days of paid casual leave per year, provided that not more than four days’ leave may be taken continuously. SBI staff cannot combine their casual leaves with holidays and Sundays, to increase the absence from work beyond six days. In cases where the casual leave extends beyond these limits, it shall be treated as privileged leave.
Employees may use their casual leave balance to take personal time off, go on a vacation, or keep some of those saved to get cashed out at the time of retirement/exiting the office.
SBI Sick Leave Policy
An employee at SBI is entitled to get sick leave with full salary at the rate of 1 month for each year of service (30 days of sick leave in a year), subject to a maximum of 18 months during their entire service.
If an employee has not availed of their Casual leave in a financial year, then that shall be converted into Sick Leave, which can be taken for medical emergencies. Sick leave shall be permissible to professionals on presenting medical documents acceptable to the Bank. Employees can even avail of sick leave without furnishing a medical certificate for a maximum period of 10 days in a calendar year.
SBI Privilege Leave Policy
Employees at SBI can enjoy 33 days of privileged leave annually. The number of privilege days earned shall be one month for completing 11 months of service with the bank, and it will be credited to the employees’ leave account on the 1st of April every year. Privilege leave balance will be accrued up to a limit of 240 days.
In case an employee does not wish to avail of their privilege leave, it can be cashed out at the time of retirement or leaving the office.
SBI Maternity and Paternity Leave Policy
Female employees at SBI will be eligible for paid Maternity leave for a period not more than six months on any occasion and 12 months during the entire period of service. A female employee can even avail of maternity leave in case of abortion, miscarriage, or MTP.
