Types of Leave Policy in Barclays India
Barclays India Maternity Leave Policy
Female employees or primary caregivers at Barclays are entitled to 26 weeks of paid maternity leave in compliance with the Maternity Benefits Act of 1961. The maternity leave benefits at Barclays extend up to two surviving kids. If required, employees can also combine these leaves with annual and casual leaves to spend more time with their newborn children and bond with them.
Barclays Paternity Leave Policy in India
The company provides 6 weeks of paid paternity leave for newly became fathers or non-primary caregivers. Employees can avail of these leaves any time after the birth of the child up until the child attains the age of one.
Barclays Adoption Leave Policy
Barclays provides its eligible employees with 26 weeks of full-pay adoption leave. The employee should provide a birth certificate of the child, a legal relationship with the new baby, and other mandatory documents to avail of adoption leave benefits.
Barclays Compassionate/Bereavement Leave Policy
Employees at Barclays can get up to four days of paid bereavement leave to grieve the loss of an immediate family member or a friend. Immediate family member includes spouse, parents, siblings, children, grandparents, and in-laws.
Barclays Surrogacy Leave Policy
The company offers up to 26 weeks of paid leave for the primary caregiver of the surrogate child, whereas a non-primary caregiver can avail up to 6 weeks of paid leave.
Barclays Annual Leave Policy
Barclays provides 15 annual leaves (also known as personal time off) in a year to its regular employees. The exact number of annual leave days depends on the employee’s position and tenure with the company. Professionals can also accumulate their leaves and carry forward them to the next year up to a maximum of 45 days.
Employees can encash their annual leaves only after separating from the organization.
Barclays Casual Leave Policy
Barclays India provides Casual Leaves to its employees in case of unforeseen personal emergencies. Employees get 10 working days of paid Casual Leave in a year. However, if not used, the casual leave will be lapsed at the end of the year.
Employees cannot carry forward these leaves to the following year or encash them. Employees can also not avail of Casual Leaves while being on notice period.
Barclays Sick Leave Policy
Barclays India allows its employees to get one sick leave per month, so, an employee gets 12 Sick Leaves yearly. However, they cannot encash them. If not used in a given year, the sick leave balance will be lapsed automatically at the end of the year.
The company allows its employees to apply for these leaves after getting back to work, but they should inform their reporting manager in advance. Also, if asked an employee shall provide relevant medical certificates or reports for availing of sick leaves for more than three consecutive days. If an employee has to undergo a planned hospitalization for treatment, they must apply for medical leave before using it.
Barclays Leaves Policy during Notice Period
Employees can use their unutilized annual leave or casual leave balance against unserved notice periods or settle them as a part of a final and full settlement. Employees can even take leave during the notice period at the discretion of their immediate manager.
